All the quotes come from an article from the New York Review of books May 29. The article by Peter Beinart highlights research carried out by Republican pollster Frank Luntz on Jewish students in America. The findings suggest that the students are increasingly questioning Israel’s violent practices with many professing “a near total absence of positive feelings” towards Israel.  Many of the students also reacted angrily when shown adverts portraying Palestinians as violent and hateful with many participants citing their own Muslim friends who contradict these negative stereotypes. With the recent murder of peace activists on the freedom flotilla many more people around the world will be questioning a state that oppresses and kills in the name of “defence”.
